The Charlie Bravo Story

I get by with a little help from my friends

Some days the words flow as effortlessly as quicksilver, other days it’s like my thoughts are trudging through a pool of cold molasses, this is one of those latter days. Never fear, all is well at the Casa; how could it be otherwise on Charlie Bravo Day, right?, but sometimes the cares of life can squelch even the most joyous of occasions, so I’ll leave you with this instead.

If you feel that you have no real mission in life, consider this: there once was a man that never performed any miracles, neither did he lead an army, sit on a throne, heal any afflicted, feed any hungry, or perform any mighty feats that I’m aware of. He wore ragged animal skins, subsisted on bugs ‘n’ honey, and lived alone in the desert(eHarmony probably had a difficult time finding a proper match). Despite this, he was known as one the greatest men who ever lived simply because of his one defining mission:

He pointed people towards a better way.

This can be your mission as well. When I came out of my crate, I knew that I had a purpose, but what was that purose? The amount of bad news being transmitted daily was overwhelming, but what impact could one emaciated dog be expected to have on such a vast world filled with negativism?

Fulfill every need as it arises, and you will find your ministry; all I had to bring to the table is my story, that I didn’t have to stay confined in my crate, that there is a better way.

And that should be your mission as well.

It is much appreciated when you like and share my story, and our interaction through comments, PM’s, phone calls and actual meetings is the blood that keeps this heart beating, but you also have your own stories. Never devalue the ability of your own experiences to uplift and encourage those in your own circle of influence, as you never know when a “chance” word or action can positively change someone else’s life, and they yours.

You alone have that power, but like all power, it’s useless unless you turn the key, hit the starter, twist the throttle and drop her into gear.

Oh, and the greatest man who ever lived?

That would be John the Baptist.

This is pretty awesome for thoughts trudging through a pool of molasses! Very inspiring especially after the week I’ve had. Thank you Charlie!! ❤

Trudging through a pool of cold molasses? Wow, just think how eloquent you’d be if you were “warmed up” a little… thanks for always finding some way to be inspiring. And you’re right! One of my favorite Mark Twain quotes is, “There was never yet an uninteresting life. Such a thing is an impossibility. Inside the dullest exterior there is a drama, a comedy, and a tragedy.

Inspiring words for sure! Can;t wait for those molasses to get warmed up! And such a beautiful photo of Charlie Girl. Perfect backdrop for her nubian beauty.

  7. Jeanne Mancinelli

I do like the positiveness of your message Charlie. The images of you ( and some of the other casa members) trudging through that pool of cold molasses… It’s going to be a while before I can eliminate them from my head!!!

The perfect prose for a perfect day! * E-Harmony is waaay overrated, in my personal opinion, lolol*

So right, Charlie, I became an advocate when I fought the “Big C” that “you can do it too”. I’m surprised how many people I’ve seen thru this ordeal and now paying it forward. Ain’t no mountain to high with a positive attitude.
