The Charlie Bravo Story

With Apologies to Phil Collins…

If I told you I was hungry
Would you stop and get a can
Road trips deserve the proper cuisine
I knew you would understand
Alpo, Old Roy, or Pedigree
Whatever’s on the EZ  Mart shelves
The label’s not important, it’s the ingredients
That produces the right sounds and the smells

There’s something in the air tonight
I’ll be floating lots of covers tonight
Tonight

Well, I remember(dad remembers, don’t worry, worry, worry)
How could I ever forget
That first time, camping in the truck
The smell hasn’t left it yet
Yeah, I was there, remember what you did
That caused my lungs to deflate
So quit looking smug, wipe that grin off your mug
Your pleas come a bit too late

There won’t be something in the air tonight
I’ll sleep safely without a care tonight
Tonight

Hey Charlie, please cease thine groveling
Max E Million will take it from here
I learned long ago how to play the dad
Like a fiddle for many a year
I’ll cast my spell upon him, using my eyebrows that make me look a little too smart
Now here we go, you see I told you so
He’s pulling into the Wal Mart!

I can feel it coming in the air tonight
The air in the Subie will be ripe tonight
Tonight…

The road trip continues up the Natchez Trace Parkway; tune in Sunday for the story of our meeting with Emma the rescue dog over in Tunica.
